I ate there last night for the first time. There were very very few people in there. Had the lasagna. Not good at all. The "garlic" bread was a soggy piece of toasted italian bread. The seats very uncomfortable around the knees. My waitress was basically absent. Sure, she took my order, brought my drink and salad, but was no where around after that. Another waitress brought my food. The other 2 waitresses were busy tidying up, which wasn't really needed, but it was nice to see they keep it clean. But while they were busy doing all of that, they came by several times to check I was OK. I will give them a second chance though. The menu is extensive, so that may be a good thing, or a bad thing. Makes me wonder if the food is just warmed up or what. — Anonymous Reviewer

Hmm. Well the price is right, I'll say that. Where else can you get breakfast for $1.95? What comes out of the kitchen smacks of just plain "we don't care." I mean who serves corn-beef hash out of a can? Ordered a French dip sandwich with au jus. What came out of the kitchen was just patently offensive-a cold, dry roll whitout even the benefit of toasting, containing what looked like cheap supermarket roast beef, cold on one end and slightly warm on the other. I picked up the roast beef with my hand and it remained rigid, like a board. Meat was dry, and the sandwich had not the benefit of any cheese. If you drowned it in the au jus (clearly out of a can) you could choke down a dry mouthful or two. It was accompanied by cold, soggy fries that had not even salt. This is the food that would cause prison riots. — Anonymous Reviewer

Had lunch here the other day, good value. The place was pretty clean. It is an old building. A friend said the Prime Rib and Crab Cake was great. Took the wife out for the Prime Rib and Crab Cakes. It was great and only $14.95 for a 14oz. Prime Rib and Crab Cake dinner. Wife had Prime Rib dinner, well done, "that's the way the Wife likes it". I tried a piece of her Prime Rib an it was delicious, I hate well done, but they did a great job with it. I know we will be back. We, are members of the Winchester Country Club and Prime Rib there is $32.95, plus we have a monthly dues on top of that. It's a good value and the food is very good. Like I said earlier it is an old building. The bathroom was clean ( at least the Men's Restroom was). I wish them good luck. And give them credit for opening up an New Restaurant in this trouble economy. — Anonymous Reviewer

If you enjoy terrible tasting food and even worse service, I would highly recommend this place. I got a "reuben sandwich" with two very thinly sliced pieces of corned beef that were almost the consistency of beef jerky. I made a mention to the wait staff about it and she simply stated "I dont own this place" This was my second time eating there so I guess shame on me... I will NOT be going back. Stay AWAY. Also worthy of mention, they had a sign written in crayon on the door "experienced servers wanted". The crayon is a great touch. — Anonymous Reviewer

I am completely shocked at the positive reviews. The Vally Ave Diner is absolutely appalling!! Not only is the food worse than awful, it is disgustingly filthy. Granted, with today economy we are ALL looking for a great deal but I am sorry, I will pay a bit more to have my food properly handled and cooked accordingly. Even the service was well below par. As far as the amount of cars in the parking lot, the only explanation I can come up with - folks who have very low standards. — Anonymous Reviewer

The place is a dump!!!!!!! The only plus was our waitress Sandy the girl from NJ. Very filthy and the food is horrible. I heard the owners had owned a diner in Martinsburg and closed down due to the Health Department. Please if you value your health at all do not go to this place. I feel very bad for the servers who work their because soon they will be looking for new jobs when the place shuts down. — Anonymous Reviewer

Mixed reviews here. Friendly staff greeted us and place appeared clean. I ordered lasagna. As my salad came our waitress said my food would be a while as they had to make it. Less than five minutes and it arrived. Hot, perfectly cooked noodles, tasty sauce with chunks of tomato and lots of meat. That's the good news. She ordered a club sandwich which had bacon that appeared to be cooked in the deep fat fryer. All bacon should be done on the grill. Period! The fries had a strange color and tasted of grease that had not been changed in several days. Strong odor. She never received the coleslaw that came with the meal and we literally had to flag down our waitress for refills on our drinks. She left us stranded and they were not busy. Had to ask for sweetener and the holder was not very clean. Probably will return and give them one more shot to redeem themselves but they need to do much better. — Anonymous Reviewer

Simply, go elsewhere. The food was not appealing in any way and was over priced. Excuse me but I can spend the same money on a meal and have a better environment, food, and service. There is also some type of bar/waitress station in the dining room. Needless to say customers and staff treat it as a bar area, talking as if I paid to listen to there conversations. Get rid of the bar. The staff look dirty, as if they have been slopping food in those shirts for days. Just change the color. There was a lot of staff there doing nothing. Sorry won't go back there. I got the Reuben, I'm sorry the sauerkraut and cheese sandwich, come on people get it together. — Anonymous Reviewer
