Was looking for a true sandwich shop on the Downtown Mall. Snow White Grill re-opend and I am not only happy they did, but very pleased with their sandwiches and prices. Wanted a chicken salad sandwich to take back to the office for less than a "week's wages". Great sandwich, great service, great price. I will be back for burgers and hot dogs too. Ownership has apparently changed. Before, these were the tastiest sliders in town. But summer of 2014, and maybe I'm delusional, but the patties are super tiny, the cheese is thick and velveetaish, the extras on a "deluxe" were non-existent, and I swear the onions were missing. The buns are also different. Very sad. Because this was THE PLACE for good, cheap sliders. The fries were also bland. They NEED to get those old recipes back or something. I just stopped into Snow White Grill for an afternoon snack of 2 cheeseburgers with mayo, ketchup, mustard and grilled onions, and an order of fries with the works (and extra jalapenos). The burgers were melt-in-your-mouth delicious and the fries were exactly what I was craving. The staff was as friendly as can be, chatting with the customers, talking about the local news, kidding around with the younger customers, and all-in-all having a good time making everybody feel welcome. Snow White Grill is a Winchester staple and I highly recommend it for a feel-good food. (not a healthy feel-good, but a feel-good-in-your-guts good). — Anonymous Reviewer

I used to love this place when I was younger. This place has gone to the birds! Went there Saturday and stood and stood and stood! No greeting no nothing! Yes it was busy, but there were 6 people working and 3 of the 6 just stood by the register and talked among themselves! This was my 3rd and last visit! Befuddling that this place would have an average rating of four stars, but perhaps as the previous poster said, "The Snow White (Grill) has really gone downhill in the last 2-3 years." Went there for a lunch date with my mom. Was told with a dismissive wave of the hand that ALL of their burgers come with pickles. Expect this attitude from a bustling sub shop in Queens, not a burger joint in rural VA doing a trickle during peak lunch hours. Burger itself came out on a smashed, soggy supermarket bun, accompanied with a too-heavy dose of onions. This goes back to the pickle: if you need these condiments to "make" your signature burger, you're doing it wrong. I pile it on while at Five Guys, but the condiments are simply an accompaniment to the meat, not a mask for tasteless, poorly-constructed patties. The best burger I've ever eaten is the Luger Burger at Peter Luger, something that is served plain with optional Luger Sauce. This indistinct, gritty pile was probably one of the worst burgers I've ever eaten, something out of a high school track meet concession stand. The fries were tasteless, lightly salted. Most likely McCain from the frozen aisle. Terrible. Regretfully I didn't remember to order the birch beer, however my Coke was just fine. Everything was ornately wrapped in a paper bag and, while nice, this one positive didn't justify the twelve bucks for two dreadful mini burgers, a pile of starch that we shared and fountain sodas. This is one of those spots in areas such as this that's trading in on some feigned historical significance within the community, rather than actually putting the work IN to put OUT good food they can be proud of. The snow white has really gone downhill in the last 2-3 years. While the prices have skyrocketed the quality has taken a dive. Took my 4 year old son out to lunch today to the Snow White Grill. We feasted on cheese burgers, cheese fries and birch beer. While my son didn't like the onions on his burger (note to self for the next visit), I really enjoyed the meal. This is a great old fashion burger joint with the feel that it must have had back in the 50's amd 60's. I love this place and look forward to many future meals with my son as he grows up in Winchester. Also, good to know about the burger challenge! Found out today that the record is 12 burgers in 10 minutes...I'm going to try to top that sometime later this year! — Anonymous Reviewer

This is a Winchester classic. Not a fan of the burgers, they are way too tiny.The service is like any diner... not very good. However their steak and cheese is the best in the city, it blows away anthony's, the fries are delicious, and these are the two sole reasons it recieves a 4 — Anonymous Reviewer
