On Saturday, June 30, 2012 I had lunch at Camino Real, the Mexican Restaurant at 928 Berryville Avenue. It had been completely remodeled following a fire earlier in the year.

One difference in the floor plan was the addition of a small bar on the left side of the dining area. I was seated in a booth a little back from the front of the place, and didn't take time to explore further.

The lunch menu was two pages; here are its main listings: Lunch Combinations, House Specials, Beef Dishes, Seafood Dishes, Chicken Dishes, and Seafood Dishes. I chose a Beef Burrito from the Lunch Combinations, and ordered a Mr. PiBB for my beverage.

While I was waiting for the kitchen to do its thing, I asked to see the dinner menu. It had four pages with these main listings: Appetizers, Chicken Fajita, Mariscos/Seafood Dishes, Pollo/Chicken Dishes, Puerco/Pork Dishes, and Carne/Meat Dishes.

Also, Special Burritos, Regular Burritos, Las Enchiladas, Los Burritos, Side Dishes, Soup, American Dishes, Children's Dishes, Barbecued Ribs, Desserts, and Beverages. The back page included certain Special Dishes.

I was pleased with my lunch; the food was as good before the fire. Incidentally, Berryville also has a Camino Real at 16 Crow Street. Camino Real can be translated from Spanish as Royal Road

The food is ok. Growing up in Sothern CA I have eaten a lot of good Mexican food and this just wasn't it. I will just have to continue cooking my own at home :( — Anonymous Reviewer

I eat lunch here frequently with my colleagues. The food is very good, but probably not the best Mexican in Winchester. Some of the servers are very slow to bring refills on drinks. — Anonymous Reviewer

Ate here after Grand Feature parade. Food is so good. Disappointed there was no Cinco Mayo celebration. — Anonymous Reviewer

Our first visit back since the fire that closed them for several months. The new layout and decor was a nice upgrade and the menu still rocks. Food was great and service was top notch. Love this place! — Anonymous Reviewer

I love this place. The service is always top notch. My friend and I hadn't been in there in several months, but went last week, and he knew exactly what we wanted before we said anything. As always the food was amazing. Best Mexican restaurant in Winchester! — Anonymous Reviewer

We've eaten at the Berryville location for many years and have always enjoyed the food very much, but we recently got takeout from there and it was disappointing. The chicken in the enchiladas was dry and tasteless. The rice was equally dry and looked to be old and they didn't even provide any sour cream and guacamole like they use to. It was not the fine type of food we were use to getting from them in the past. — Anonymous Reviewer

I eat at the one in Berryville all the time. It's my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Winchester area. I've never had a bad dish there. — Anonymous Reviewer

Camino Real has always been a great place to to out for dinner with the family. Tonight was another fine example. My dinner (Camino Real Special) was tasty and very large! Service was very friendly and the price is very reasonable. Highly recommend if you live in Winchester or are just visiting. — Anonymous Reviewer

First visit today for lunch after passing the place probably a thousand times. It was well worth the stop! The staff could not have been more friendly or attentive. The food was delicious, filling and reasonably priced. I will go back! — Anonymous Reviewer
